RSVP to Margie Forster, HCRP Volunteer Coordinator, with the date you want to attend. (Only one session is needed.)  Email:  hcrp.coordinator@harriscountygop.com or phone 713-376-4820. Precinct Chairs are especially encouraged to attend if you are not presently a Deputy Voter Registrar.

The Harris County Republican Party Precinct Chairman's Handbook describes the role of the Precinct Chairman: "You are the elected Republican political leader in your precinct. As Precinct Chairman, your #1 goal is to maximize the Republican vote in your precinct. You do this by: Identifying Voters; Registering Voters; Informing Voters; and Turning Out Voters."  Remember, the Republican Party depends on Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrars (not ACORN or its affiliates) to Register Voters.

Those who have been Harris County Deputy Voter Registrars in the past, but haven't updated their Deputy Registrar number since December 2008, must take the training to be deputized again. The training is open to anyone age 18 or over. It takes about an hour, after which the group brainstorms about places they can go to register voters.

Sincerely,

Jared Woodfill
