HCRP Chairman Jared WoodfillDear Harris County Republicans,

Your Harris County Republican Party has been active organizing, recruiting, informing and raising funds to spread our shared message of liberty.  Please take a moment to review the following newsletter  about early voting, the petition to our Governor, our recent successful event with Karl Rove and ways you can assist in our ongoing efforts. Thank you for your service and I look forward to working with all of you to defeat the Democrats in 2010!

Early Voting Underway For Primary Runoff

Early voting for the April 13th Republican Primary Runoff Election starts today, April 5th and runs through Friday, April 9th from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm each day. We've posted a wealth of election information on our Primary page: http://www.harriscountygop.com/Primary10.asp

There you'll find links to all of the Early Voting locations, a sample ballot and candidate contact information.

Your participation in the Republican Primary Runoff will send a message to the liberal left that Republicans are alive and well in Harris County...please vote in the Republican Primary Runoff Election.

Petition to Gov. Perry to Call a Special Session

As you know, President Obama's socialized medicine bill is threatening our economy, our health and our freedom. This is the first time in American history that the federal government has mandated we buy a service.

Last Thursday we sent an eblast and posted to Facebook announcing a petition to ask Governor Perry to call a Special Session of the Texas Legislature to enact legislation that would nullify Obamacare in the state of Texas. Specifically, a Health Care Freedom Act that would override any law, rule or regulation that forces employers or individuals to join any particular health care system. Since we announced the petition, response has been immense. As I'm writing this, responses are still streaming in and over 3,400 individuals have added their name that we will be sending to Governor Perry. If you haven't yet added your name, please visit our website.

Karl Rove - "The Architect" Headlines Successful HCRP Event

We were very honored to have Karl Rove, former advisor to President George W. Bush, for a special event in our Distinguished Conservative Author Series.

This successful HCRP event gave us a rare opportunity to hear from "The Architect" himself as he sets the record straight in his new book, Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight.

I want to thank our Honorary Event Chairman, Senator Dan Patrick and Peter Wareing for his Introduction of Karl Rove and all the support we received for the sold-out event.

We wanted to share with everyone Karl Rove's speech. Karl shares his heart as he looks at where our party has been and where it is going. You will be greatly encouraged by his uplifting message! You can view this now on our home page or by visiting this link.

Ways You Can Help - Volunteer & Donate

There are many ways you can help us achieve victory as we move forward past our primary runoff election and onto success this November.

We will be needing volunteers in the neighborhoods as we move forward to November. You can sign up by visiting our Volunteer page. If you have a question, you can contact our volunteer coordinator Margie Forster directly. Our fine candidates can always use your help in block walking, phoning and reaching out to neighbors and friends. Go to our website where you can find our candidates contact information. Visit their websites, phone or email them and get behind them and offer your help.

We can always use your financial help as well. To be a part of the 2010 Victory Campaign, consider making a financial contribution or downloading a membership application and becoming a member of your local GOP.

We will be successful because we will work together, each doing what they can.
