On Monday, May 24th your Harris County Republican Party made a major advance in our ongoing Outreach efforts with the Grand Opening of our Eastside Headquarters located at 619 Broadway Street. The day kicked off with our HCRP Annual Educational Excellence bike program at JR Harris Elementary, which is just two blocks from our new Eastside HQ. The program rewards students at the elementary school who pass all elements of the TAKS Test with a brand new bicycle. The results of the program along with the efforts of the JR Harris staff under the leadership of Principal Stephen Harding are unquestioned; this year 199 students qualified for a free bicycle and test scores continue to rise.

Following the awards ceremony at JR Harris, the HCRP HQ Opening kicked off where the students were able to pick up their brand new bikes. Teachers, parents, area residents and grassroots activists enjoyed music, hot pizza and cold drinks while the students picked up their brand new bikes. This was a great opportunity for area residents to meet GOP elected officials, candidates and activists right there in their own neighborhood.

In addition to campaign activities, our vision for the Eastside HQ includes many community service components which will attract local residents to the GOP and involve them in our Party.
