Here is what our fellows are saying about the Harris County Leadership Council:
"Being able to participate in the Harris County Leadership Council was a true privilege. The curriculum was exactly what I was looking for when thinking about a program that could teach me the actual details of being successful within the Republican Party. The connections that I made throughout the process will surely be invaluable for achieving my goals in the future."
- Derek Nelson, Account Executive at Alert Logic
"I am proud to be part of the inaugural class of the Harris County Leadership Council! The speakers that the organizers recruited were experienced, well spoken, and leaders in their industry. If you are interested in the political field, this is a once in a life time opportunity and will surely open up doors!"
-Lydia Elseth, Harris County Field Organizer at Republican Party of Texas
"The HCLC was an amazing opportunity to learn more about the local government and party while meeting like-minded young professionals who will move into positions of leadership in the years ahead. Through HCLC I learned a great deal about Houston's local government and the organization of the Republican Party. I was able to meet local elected leaders, some of whom have become mentors. And I now know peers with whom I will work in the future to advance our city and country."
- Eric Osborne, Litigation Associate at Andrews Kurth LLP
"HCLC is an incredible opportunity to engage with future leaders of the conservative movement while building a working knowledge of the political process. The program exposes participants to civic issues, the political landscape, and contacts to expand their involvement within the Republican Party."
- Ben Proler, Analyst at Shell Oil Products U.S.
"Being a part of the HCLC has opened up many doors for me. Through the contacts I gained in this program, I have made new friends and become part of different networking circles. I had no idea there were so many conservative young professionals in Houston. I am really proud to be a part of this program."
- Ashlei Kellough, Organizational Director at Harris County Republican Party
The Harris County Leadership Council is a 7-month learning program that offers participants an insider’s guide into the nitty-gritty of the political world. Participants are engaged in an all-out political program that will focus on topics such as, fundraising, campaigning, advocacy and more.
Our program begins in May and participants meet for seven different classes, on the third Saturday of each month, from May until December. Each meeting starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m., with light breakfast and networking to start at 8:30 a.m. Lunch is provided. Classes are held at the Harris County Republican Party Headquarters. Speakers for each session will be a leading expert in specific political fields who discuss current topics and explain how participants can get involved or use their expertise and connections to help them succeed on their next political endeavor. At the end of seven months, the class puts together an exciting capstone project to be determined by the fellows in the beginning months.
The Young Leadership Development Committee is excited to be offering such an amazing program and we hope you will consider being a part of it. Please RSVP by applying via the below link by May 15, 2016. The cost of the class is $100 and must be paid before the first class but is not required to register. The first class of the session will be on May 21, 2016.
