Judge Denise Collins
208th District Court

Judge Denise Collins was elected to the 208th District Court in 1992. During the past 18 years of service Judge Collins has administered verdicts for many felony cases, including sex offenders and capital murderers. As permitted by Texas law, punishments for these felonies include mandatory confinement, life imprisonment and the death penalty. Judge Collins is a proud conservative and continuously applies her conservative principles, such as sound fiscal responsibility, by being mindful of the taxpayers' money. She especially utilizes her conservative principles when addressing the issues and costs associated with indigent defendants. Judge Collins has spoken to numerous civic and community organizations regarding court procedures and issues. She has also received awards recognizing her significant influence and leadership in the Harris County courthouse. Before serving as Judge, she practiced law for 10 years and was a junior high school teacher with the Houston Independent School District. She is a devoted wife and proud mother of one son.
