Judge Jim Wallace
263rd District Court
Judge Jim Wallace is an honors graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce
and a graduate of University of Houston Law School. Judge Wallace is a United
States Army disabled veteran. While in law school Judge Wallace worked in
local law enforcement and in the Harris County District Attorneys Office.
Upon graduation, Judge Wallace returned to his home county where he served
as an Assistant District and County Attorney for Orange County, Texas. He
and his family returned to the Houston area in 1981, where he worked as
in-house counsel and General Counsel for Houston based public corporations.
In 1994, Judge Wallace was elected to 263rd Criminal District Court bench.
He was re-elected in 1998, 2002 and again in 2006. Judge Wallace is Board
Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization; an
adjunct professor of law at South Texas College of Law and is a co-author
of the 2009, Criminal Pattern Jury Charges, published by the State Bar of
Texas.
