First Houston Mayoral Runoff Forum in Partnership with Rep. Senfronia Thompson

PROGRESS HOUSTON : Mayoral Runoff Forum

To curtail traditional low voter turnout, Rep. Senfronia Thompson is partnering to host the first Mayoral Runoff Forum, entitled “Progress Houston,” that is designed to engage Houstonians in their City’s future.

“You’ve heard their stance, now it’s time to hear their plans to “Progress Houston,” said Rep. Thompson.

During the run-off mayoral forum, the audience and viewers will be given an opportunity to hear Sylvester Turner’s and Bill King’s agenda to “Progress Houston” as mayor. The candidates will be asked to share their plans for:

  • Setting agenda for the City’s budget.
  • Developing jobs that affect economic opportunities for Houstonians.
  • Appointing the police chief and majority of Metro board responsible for decisions that impact public transit and traffic.
  • Overseeing departments that inspect and repair the City’s infrastructure.
  • Making decisions that impact the City’s environment and ability to be a desirable place to live, work and play.
Viewers will be able to watch the forum live-streamed by My Fox Houston (click to watch on November 17 during forum). To watch on mobile phone, please download MyFoxHouston FOX 26 News app for Android and Apple devices.

Social media enthusiasts can follow up-to-the minute updates on candidates’ responses by searching the #HoustonMayorRunoff hashtag on Twitter.

Refreshments will be served.
