Harris County Democrats Forced to Break with 2020 Dems in Support of Oil & Gas Industry

Harris County Democrats proved the 2020 Democrat presidential candidates are too far left for Texas.

In advance of the Houston debate, local Democrats on Commissioners Court broke with 2020 Democrats and their support for the radical $93 trillion Green New Deal.

There's no denying that the oil and gas industry is critical to Harris County. That's why Judge Lina Hidalgo, Commissioner Adrian Garcia, and Commissioner Rodney Ellis, joined Republicans in signing a resolution in support of the hundreds of thousands of jobs and economic and energy security the oil and gas industry provides to the region.

The resolution introduced by Commissioner Jack Cagle also recognizes the U.S. oil and natural gas industry as the leading investor in zero- and low-carbon technology, "investing $108.2 billion in greenhouse gas mitigating technologies between 2000-2016."

Meanwhile, instead of working with the industry to save jobs and reduce emissions, out-of-touch 2020 Democrats have pledged to eliminate all fossil fuels and destroy the "Energy Capital of the World."
