HOUSTON, September 17, 2019 – The Harris County Republican Party announced today that it has endorsed Republican Luis LaRotta for State Representative in the special election for Texas House District 148 to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Early voting will begin on Monday, October 21, 2019.
"A lifelong Texan and U.S Navy veteran proud of his Hispanic heritage, Luis understands the conservative values and limited government principles that Texans live by. Luis is dedicated to serving our country and bettering his community for our veterans, youth, and neighbors," said Harris County Republican Party Chairman Paul Simpson. "I am excited to announce the Harris County Republican Party has endorsed Luis LaRotta for State Representative in the special election for House District 148. Luis will be as a strong leader giving Houstonians a powerful voice in the Texas House."
LaRotta is a native born, first-generation Houstonian and veteran of the U.S. Navy. His father hails from Colombia and his mother from Honduras. LaRotta served as Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus – Houston Bay Area, and has been heavily involved in the Young Republican clubs in his area. He is a member of and has been endorsed by the Texas Young Republican Federation (TYRF). LaRotta also serves his community through various mentorship programs and as a board member of the Houston Clean City Commission.
