HOUSTON, September 25, 2019 – State Representative Dwayne Bohac (R-Houston) announced today that he will not seek re-election to the Texas House of Representatives, District 138, following the remainder of his term in 2020. Bohac has served House District 138 since 2003.
"We are grateful for Representative Bohac's dedication and service to Harris County and to the state of Texas and are proud of his many accomplishments while representing the conservative values of his constituents in Austin for nearly two decades," said Paul Simpson, Chairman of the Harris County Republican Party. "From fulfilling his promise to help pass balanced state budgets without raising taxes every legislative session to fighting for better education and opportunities for families in West Houston, Spring Branch, Cy-Fair, Bear Creek, and Katy, Dwayne has made a difference in the lives of his constituents and all Texans.
"Dwayne has always been one of the hardest working public servants I know, and he truly cares about making his community a better place to live, work, and raise a family," Simpson continued. "I have no doubt that Dwayne will continue to make an impact during the next chapter of his life, and we wish him, his family, and Team Bohac all the best. As we head into 2020, we look forward to working with the Republican nominee who will pick up where Dwayne leaves off and continue to support the pro-taxpayer, pro-business, and pro-family values of HD 138 voters."
