Chairman Paul Simpson: 'Democrats are not the Party that is going to keep Texas great'
HOUSTON, September 13, 2019 – Harris County Republican Party Chairman Paul Simpson released the following statement regarding the 2020 Democrat presidential candidates in Houston for the ABC News Debate.
"What Americans saw last night in Houston was a circus of far-left Democrat candidates who are wildly out-of-touch with Texas. In Harris County, we’re proud to be the home of the ‘Energy Capital of the World’ and the largest medical center in the world. Democrat candidates had the opportunity to speak directly to voters in Harris County last night and all they could offer them was more radical socialist policies that would threaten hundreds and thousands of jobs and destroy the Houston economy.
"Texans don't want the radical socialist agenda of the Democrats that would raise taxes, put bureaucrats in charge of health care, wreck the oil business, subsidize abortion, take away our freedoms, and inject government into every aspect of our lives. Conservative principles and pro-growth, free-market policies keep our state tops in job creation and are why people come to Texas for jobs and business. Last night, one thing was clear, Democrats are not the Party that is going to keep Texas great."
