Mike Sullivan, Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector, leads the office in a fiscally conservative, no non-sense approach.
As a former Houston City Councilman, Humble ISD school board member, Region H Water Group adviser and hospital trustee, Sullivan has more than 40 years of business experience. Known by Houstonians as a budget watchdog, his priorities center on advancing technology, improving customer service and advocating for tax payers. Recently Sullivan presented a check to Mayor Turner in the amount of $330,488.00 from his "Top 10 Delinquent Tax Accounts" initiative.
Mike Sullivan oversees a staff of more than 400 people across 16 branch offices. He works closely with the Harris County Appraisal District and keeps a watchful eye over the property tax division as well as the automobile registration division, working closely with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles for the largest county in Texas.
Another key responsibility of the Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector position is overseeing and managing the County voter rolls, to help ensure those who are registered are citizens qualified to vote. That is a major reason why the left-wing group Battleground Texas has specially targeted this position this year to elect a Democrat to the post in 2016. So it's important to all who cherish fair and honest elections to help reelect Mike Sullivan as Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector this November!
