Lead Right Precinct Chair Newsletter

469 days until Election Day 2022…

This past weekend was a busy and successful weekend for HCRP! The Judicial Screening Committee hosted the first (of many) signing parties for our judicial candidates. (Thanks to Mary Jane Smith for hosting and Stan Stanart for assisting.) We plan on having these signing parties around the county over the next few months so that our judicial candidates can get the signatures they need to waive the filing fees. Additionally, there was a successful block walking event held this past Saturday to recruit precinct chairs and volunteers. Lastly, Harris County Republicans joined the rally to support Cubans fighting against the Cuban communist regime.

As a result of the hard work of Harris County Republicans here and in Austin, our social media followers grew exponentially this past week as we showed that we are working for our community, while the Democrat state legislators are MIA and partying in DC.

The excitement continues…on Friday we are planning to launch the new website. The Advisory Board, Committee Chairs and Marketing Committee took it out for a test drive this past weekend. Based upon their input, we are making some changes and additions. We have been working with the website designers to make the website modern and dynamic and for the secured part to be user friendly, while providing you the information that you need to be effective in your job.

When the website goes live this Friday, a link to it will be provided in “The Right Direction” newsletter that is sent to our entire email base. A separate email will be sent to just the precinct chairs with instructions on how to access the secured precinct chair area.

After we have completed signing up all precinct chairs for secured access, we will be setting up election workers’ access to the election worker page in the near future. This will be done in conjunction with the input and guidance from the Ballot Security Committee leadership.

After the website launch the next phase will include a Lookup feature for the public to enter their address and find their precinct chair and email. If you do not want your name and email to be provided on the public part of the website, you will need to let Vanessa Ingrassia, vanessa.ingrassia@harriscountygop.com, know asap that you are “opting out.” If you choose that option, then the person will just get a note that says to contact HCRP headquarters for that information. Subsequent phases will include more website features, such as a store.

Lastly, please mark your calendar for the next Executive Session that is scheduled for Monday, September 20. This will be after filing season opens. So, come prepared to file your paperwork to run for election as precinct chair. We will have this information available in addition to people to notarize it.

Thanks for your hard work! People are taking notice here and around the state of the HCRP energy and our will to win in 2022!

Warm Regards,

Cindy Siegel
Chairman
Harris County Republican Party

New Rules for Ballot Security Committee Meetings

Precinct Chairs are allowed to attend the monthly meetings of the HCRP Ballot Security Committee, but may not participate or vote in the meeting itself. BSC members will remain after the one-hour meetings to answer questions or hear ideas from non-voting members.

Due to the increased interest in Ballot Security if a member of your precinct wishes to attend a BSC meeting, they will need you to send an email to Vanessa Ingrassia, Vanessa.Ingrassia@harriscountygop.comauthorizing that person to attend the meeting. When they appear at the meeting, they should be prepared to show ID and sign in on a guest sheet. Please inform them that they may not participate in the formal meeting, but that they will have a chance to ask questions and make suggestions as soon as the formal meeting is adjourned.

We do appreciate and welcome the growing interest in election integrity. But we must maintain the security of our committee deliberations.

    Training & Development Committee Events

Ground Fire

Ground Fire is a Training & Development Committee Program for “in-the-precinct / on-the-job” training, where we canvass precincts for precinct chairs and volunteers, teaching new precinct chairs some of the best practices, processes and lessons learned. This is a great opportunity to learn, and at the same time build our base, our ground game and help Republicans win again.

Ground Fire GOTV Canvassing on Saturday, July 31, 9:30AM – 2:00PM
Precinct 0001 is the center of the targeted area. It is a strong democrat precinct (Average: 73% Democrat). So, the goal is to focus on the limited republican doors. This will require driving since the few republicans likely do not live on the same street. We will begin at a to-be-announced location at 9:30AM, for assignments (we will group in pairs) and instructions and begin canvassing at 10AM. We target completion by 2PM latest and will have a to-be-announced meetup location, possibly a late lunch, for an after-action review and improvement discussion.

Please RSVP using the link below. If you RSVP, please place a placeholder in your calendar! RSVPs are required so we know how many teams, maps and canvass books to create. Logistics details will be sent to the RSVP list 1-2 days prior to the event date. See the map below for the targeted canvassing area.
