HOUSTON — Today, President Biden announced he is suspending his presidential campaign and will not be seeking re-election. 

Harris County Republican Party Chairman Cindy Siegel issued the following statement.

“This comes as a surprise to absolutely no one. The Democratic machine has been sewing the threads for months to make this happen. 

“The will of every Democratic primary voter has been thwarted, and everyone involved in the decision-making process to push Biden along before the primary elections should be ashamed of themselves. 

“Democrats have painted President Trump as a “threat to democracy.” The real threat is the Democrat Party elites who will now personally select their nominee despite millions of Americans casting their ballots for another candidate. 

“If Biden isn’t up for running for re-election, then how are the American people expected to have any confidence in his ability to finish out his term? 

“Republicans just finished a historic convention in Milwaukee. I was there myself as a delegate and can say with certainty the Republican Party has never been more united. 

“Whether it be Kamala, Newsom, or any other hand-picked, far-Left candidate, none of them stand a chance against President Trump. 

“While the Democrats scramble, Republicans will march on to November as one unified front.”
