The summer is flying by…but our work continues. I want to update you on some items going on at HCRP.
We have had several applicants for the Communications Director position that we have been interviewing over the last few weeks. I hope to have a decision made by the end of this week. This person will help us greatly with our messaging as we look to the elections this fall and 2022.
Secondly, the work on the website continues. The delays have been frustrating, but after a discussion with the owner of the website design firm the speed and turnaround of our changes has picked up. So, I am hopeful that the first phase will be completed shortly. At that point there will be a secured login for all precinct chairs and election workers to access confidential information like training and our strategic plan. There will be a second and possible third phase that will add the special features we want including an online store.
Third, the pilot voter registration project that we are doing in conjunction with the Republican Party of Texas and our elected officials will be going “live” next week with texts being sent out to over 170,000 people who have moved into Harris County recently that has been provided to us from the GOP data base. This will be followed up with a mailer and then phone banking. It will be updated every quarter.
Lastly, we are still checking out locations for our next Executive Committee meeting. Tentatively, we have scheduled it for Monday, August 2nd. We will let you know once we have confirmed the place.
This year in the face of the movement of the Left to erode our freedoms both nationally and here locally makes this Independence Day even more poignant. I hope you will join me with a prayer of thanks for the wisdom of our founding fathers and those who have fought to preserve our freedoms from the very beginning of our country. Training & Development Committee Events
Ground Fire
Ground Fire is a Training & Development Committee Program for “in-the-precinct / on-the-job” training, where we canvass precincts for precinct chairs and volunteers, teaching new precinct chairs some of the best practices, processes and lessons learned. This is a great opportunity to learn, and at the same time build our base, our ground game and help Republicans win again.
Precinct 0332 is the center of the targeted area. It is a strong democrat precinct (Average: 83% Democrat). So, the goal is to focus on the limited republican doors. This will require driving since the few republicans likely do not live on the same street. We will begin at a to-be-announced location at 9:30AM, for assignments (we will group in pairs) and instructions and begin canvassing at 10AM. We target completion by 2PM latest and will have a to-be-announced meetup location, possibly a late lunch, for an after-action review and improvement discussion.
